Cherylee “Joan” Warner, age 57, of Clare passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 17, 2012 in Barryton. Cherylee was born on December 3, 1954 in Mt. Pleasant, MI to Robert and Doris (Olmstead) Warner.
She was raised in the Clare area and spent her summers vacationing at Evans Lake in Barryton when she was younger. This love for the lake and the Village of Barryton led her to volunteering at several events alongside her sister Sandy MacKersie. Joan was actively involved with Girl Scout Troop 3051 of Barryton, was a Christian and loved animals and gardening. She worked as a cook and enjoyed it.
Joan will be remembered by those who survive her for always being nice and being willing to lend a hand. She is survived by: two children, Troy (Angela) Thurlow of Harrison and Robert Thurlow of Shepherd; three sisters: Judy (Rick) Himmelein of Martin, Joan’s twin- Cherylann “Jean” (John) Marshall of Farwell and Sandy (Mitchell) MacKersie of Barryton; three beloved grandchildren, Alyxzcia, Kurshlyn and Byren, her dog Tinkerbell and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Doris Warner, an infant brother Bobby Warner, a brother Jack Warner, an infant son Timothy Thurlow and infant grand daughter, Debra Thurlow.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Daggett Funeral Home.
Joan was a cancer survivor, memorial donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
