Dennis A. Cornell age 58, of Remus passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012. He was born March 6, 1954 in Mt. Pleasant to William and Verna (Cummings) Cornell. Dennie graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1972. He lived in the Barryton area the majority of his life. Dennie had been employed by the City of Mt. Pleasant for 6 years prior to his 15 year tenure as a truck driver for the Mecosta County Road Commission.

Dennie was a member of Barryton Church of Christ, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, the NRA and the Barryton Conservation Club. He enjoyed farming, hunting Farmall Tractors and his beloved dog Diesel.

Dennie is survived by his sons, Luke (Amanda) Cornell of Flushing, Adam (Bethany) Cornell of Swartz Creek and their mother Jane Cornell of Remus; one granddaughter who he cherished Macyn Cornell; his beloved parents Bill and Verna Cornell of Barryton; a brother, Jerry (Rhonda) Cornell of Clio; two sisters, Susanne (David) Smith of Durand, Tina (Bill) Henry of Wildwood, IL; brother-in-law, Jack Stickler of Big Rapids and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister Jenine Stickler.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Barryton Church of Christ with visitation two hours prior from Noon until 2:00 p.m.
